Live anxiety support from real people
AFK is a free mobile app where you ask for anxiety support anonymously and other people write back, usually within minutes.
Write a few honest sentences. If the reply helped, the person tells you in one word: Appreciated.
What makes AFK different
There are a lot of anxiety apps. Most of them put an AI between you and a calmer minute. AFK puts another human on the other side of the screen.
Real people, not AI
Every reply you receive on AFK is written by another AFK user from their phone. No bots, no canned responses, no "I am sorry to hear that" templates.
Replies in minutes
Most requests get one or more replies within a few minutes during typical hours. Requests auto-close after 30 minutes or 10 replies, so you are not left hanging.
Anonymous to ask, human to reply
When you ask, no one sees who you are. When you reply, you appear as a first name and a country flag. Enough to feel human, not enough to be identified.
How AFK works, in three taps
No long onboarding. No subscription. Sign in once, then it works the way you would expect.
Tap the category that fits the moment
Eight anxiety categories: Financial, Relationships, Work, Education, Health, Social, General, Parenting. Pick the closest one.
Write a few honest sentences
Anonymous to you, visible to other AFK users in the Give Support tab. While you wait, the app shows a 4-4-6 breathing guide you can use.
Real replies land in your inbox
Each reply shows a first name and a country flag, for example "John 🇷🇴". Mark replies Appreciated, Not helpful, or Reported. The Appreciated ones get a green label.
Eight anxiety categories
AFK organises support around the anxiety patterns people actually live with. Tap a category to read more about that pattern on the main site, or open AFK and post a request directly.
General anxiety
The diffuse, hard-to-name worry that follows you around the day.
Relationship anxiety
Doubt loops, attachment spikes, the 3am replay of one text message.
Work anxiety
Sunday-evening dread, performance loops, the unread Slack channel.
Health anxiety
The chest tightness that might be anxiety, or might be something else.
Social anxiety
The post-interaction replay, the avoided room, the rehearsed sentence.
Financial anxiety
Money stress that lives in your body, not just your spreadsheet.
Education anxiety
Exam pressure, comparison spirals, the imposter feeling in class.
Parenting anxiety
The quiet worry that you are doing the most important job wrong.
Ask when you need it. Give when you can.
AFK only works because every asker is also a potential supporter. The first time you reply to someone else, you discover the part of the app that surprises people.
You open the Give Support tab, browse anonymous requests by category, pick one that resonates, and write a short reply. The app shows a "Thank you!" confirmation. Later, if the asker marked your reply Appreciated, your phone buzzes - a push notification - and your message now carries a small green "Appreciated" label in your sent history. One real person telling you, in one word, that your support landed.
That is the loop AFK is built around. Not points. Not streaks. One word from one person.
Which app fits this moment?

AFK and Anima Felix are built for different moments. Pick the one that fits today, or use both - most people do.

A few things AFK is not
AFK is a peer-support app for anxious moments. It is not a crisis service, not therapy, and not medical care. The app interface is currently English-only; the AFK web pages on this site are available in English, Romanian, and Ukrainian.

Is AFK free?
Yes. AFK is free to download and free to use on both iOS and Android. There is no premium tier and no in-app purchases. The main Anima Felix app is also free with optional premium features; AFK does not unlock anything in that app and the other way around.
How fast do replies come?
Most requests get one or more replies within minutes during typical hours. Low-traffic hours can be longer. Each request auto-closes after 30 minutes or 10 replies, whichever comes first. If your request closes without replies, you can post a new one - AFK allows up to three support requests per hour per account.
Are AFK replies written by real people or by AI?
Real people. Every reply you receive on AFK is written by another AFK user from their phone. The reply card shows the supporter's first name and a country flag, for example "John 🇷🇴".
What does Appreciated mean?
Appreciated is the asker's way of saying "your support helped." When an asker taps Appreciated on a reply, the supporter receives a push notification, and the reply carries a small green Appreciated label in the supporter's sent history. It is the only positive feedback signal AFK uses - no stars, no scores.
Can I use AFK in a crisis?
No. AFK is for anxious moments, not crisis care. If you are in immediate danger or thinking about hurting yourself or someone else, please use a crisis service. In the US you can call or text 988, text HOME to 741741, or find a local helpline at findahelpline.com. See trust and safety for the full scope.
How is AFK different from the main Anima Felix app?
AFK is anonymous peer support with live replies from other AFK users. The main Anima Felix app is a longer-term anxiety companion with AI chat, voice support, guided exercises, stories, and self-assessments. Most people end up using both - AFK in the moments, Anima Felix for everything between them.
What languages does AFK support?
The AFK app UI is currently English-only. The AFK website pages on animafelix.com are available in English, Romanian, and Ukrainian. We are working on localized app UI.
How do I sign in to AFK?
AFK supports sign-in with Google or Apple. First-time users may pass through a short shared onboarding flow before landing in the app.
